Security and privacy
How we look after your events, your guests and your payments, in plain words. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.
The short version
- We don't record video or audio.
- Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Connections to SpeedHuddle are encrypted.
- Matching answers are never shown to other guests.
- We don't sell personal information.
The details
- Video and audio
- Video and audio are streamed live between the people in a room. We don't record them and we don't store them.
- Payments
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers. We only receive limited details, such as your card's brand, its last four digits and your billing province or country. Ticket buyers pay through the organizer's own Stripe account.
- Encrypted connections
- Connections to SpeedHuddle are encrypted, on this website and in the app.
- Passwords and sign-in
- We never store your password itself, only a salted hash of it. Sign-in sessions are stored as hashed tokens. Repeated sign-in attempts are limited, and password reset links expire after an hour.
- Matching answers and ratings
- Answers to matching questions are never shown to other guests. One-tap ratings are private too: the people you rate never see them.
- Attendee information
- An event's attendee list, matching answers and results are available to that event's organizer. Other organizers and other guests can't see them.
- Who we share with
- We use outside providers for website and app hosting, live video, email delivery and payments. They handle personal information only to provide their service to us. Some of them store information outside Canada, for example in the United States, where it's subject to the laws of that country.
- Cookies
- We use cookies and similar browser storage that the site and app need to work, such as keeping you signed in or remembering your place in an event.
Who sees what in an event
What a guest shares when they join, and who can see it. Video and audio are live only, and never recorded.
| A guest's | Other guests | People they're paired with | The event's organizer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name, job title and company | Can see | Can see | Can see |
| LinkedIn link, if added | Can't see | Can see | Can see |
| Email address, if added | Can't see | Can't see | Can see |

Organizers can download their attendee information. When you join an event, the organizer's own privacy practices also apply to how they use it.
Safe, respectful events
Everyone on SpeedHuddle agrees to our Terms of Service, including how to treat other people.
- Everyone who joins an event must be at least 18 years old.
- Nobody may record, photograph or share other people's video, audio or details without their permission.
- Hosts can remove anyone from their event.
- We may remove anyone from an event, or suspend an account, that breaks the rules.
