How it works
You set up the event in six short steps and share one link. SpeedHuddle runs the rest: the lobby, the welcome room, every timed round, the closing room and the matches at the end.
Set it up in six short steps
Your dashboard walks you through each new event, one step at a time, and shows you everything on one page before you save.
Basics
The event's name, its date and start time, and the link your guests will use.
Timing
The welcome room, the rounds and the closing room. The total length adds up as you go.
Who can join
Anyone with the link, free registration with a personal link by email, or paid tickets.
Extras
Optional. Add two-sided rounds, topic tables, networking bingo and more. Each extra is explained with an example.
Look and partners
Optional. Add your host profile, check your branding and, on Pro, pick the partner logos guests will see.
Review
Check everything on one page, then create the event and copy your guest link.
A whole event, minute by minute
Here's a default event that starts at 7:00 PM. You choose every length when you set it up, and SpeedHuddle moves everyone on cue.
-
Before 7:00
Lobby
Open until you press start
You
Open your host room and see who's arrived.
Your guests
Open your link and add their name, title and company. They check their camera and mic in a private preview, watch the countdown and see who's here.
-
7:00
Welcome room
10 minutes
You
Press start. Everyone is in one room, so you can welcome people and explain how the rounds work.
Your guests
Meet you and the whole group before the rounds begin.
-
7:10
6 one-to-one rounds
6 minutes each
You
Watch the timer, visit any room, add a minute or send a message to everyone. You don't have to move anyone.
Your guests
Meet a new partner every round. They see who they're with, a question to get started and a Connect button. A one-minute warning comes before each switch.
-
7:46
Closing room
10 minutes
You
Bring everyone back together to thank them and share what's next.
Your guests
Wrap up together, then head to their results.
-
7:56
After
Results
You
See the results and download your attendee list, with who met whom and every mutual match.
Your guests
See their mutual matches first, then everyone they met. They can copy the list or download it.
What your guests see
Guests join from a phone, tablet or computer. There's nothing to install and no account to make.
You host. The timer does the rest.
Once you press start, every stage moves on its own. Your host room lets you step in whenever you want to.
- Start the next stage now, or skip to the closing room
- Add a minute when the room needs it
- Send a message to everyone, shown as a banner
- Visit any room during a round
- Remove someone who breaks the rules
- Edit the schedule, or end the event
The awkward parts, handled
The things that usually slow a networking event down are built into how SpeedHuddle runs.
- An odd number of guests
- One room gets three people for that round, so nobody waits alone. Or you can join the extra guest yourself.
- Meeting the same person twice
- SpeedHuddle avoids repeat partners wherever it can. In a small group with many rounds, a repeat may be the only option left.
- Not knowing what to say
- Every round shows a question to start with. You can pick a deck that suits your crowd.
- Chats that run long
- A one-minute warning comes before each switch, then everyone moves on together. If a round needs more time, add a minute.
- Someone needs a break
- Turn on "Skip a round" and guests can sit out the next round in the lounge instead of leaving.
- A dropped connection
- Guests open the same link to come back in.
What guests need
A device with a camera and a microphone, and a web browser. That's it.
- A phone, tablet or computer with a camera and a microphone.
- An up-to-date web browser. Nothing to download or install.
- A steady internet connection. Headphones help in busy places.
- No account. Guests join with your link, their name, title and company. If you turn on registration, they sign up first.
- 18 or older. Everyone who joins an event must be at least 18.
